Mpemba effect in inertial suspensions

چکیده

The Mpemba effect (a counterintuitive thermal relaxation process where an initially hotter system may cool down to the steady state sooner than colder system) is studied in terms of a model inertial suspensions under shear. common suspension prepared quasiequilibrium compared with that nonequilibrium sheared state. Two classes are identified, normal and anomalous one. former generic, sense kinetic temperature starting from cold overtaken by one hot state, due absence initial viscous heating latter, resulting faster cooling. opposite since, despite slower cooling it can eventually overtake theoretical results based on theory agree those obtained event-driven simulations for inelastic hard spheres. It also confirmed existence inverse effect, which peculiar process, these suspensions. More particularly, we find mixed both be observed during relaxation.
